Two days ago, Marco answered the door for a special delivery. Here it was, Gestalten's latest publication: Once Upon a Chair, an international up-to-the minute survey of contemporary furniture design. And yes, you guessed it right: Atelier Jacob, Marco Jacob's studio of architecture and design, is part of the selection!!

Thank you, Simone. The designer and myself are really happy that you liked this hoop chair. The name Chapi-Chapo might sound a bit odd to you but I will share the origin of its name with you. Come closer...Well, when I saw the drawings for the chair I said out loud: "Oh, but it looks just like Chapi-Chapo!" And Marco loved the name. It refers to 2 crazy twins made of plasterine and living in a world of colourful geometric shapes; a short stop-motion series of the 1970s that I used to watch on TV as a child, in France.The show name was a play-on-words with the French word, chapeaux, which means "hats". Both of the main characters wore oversized hats that matched their clothing.Here is the opening theme for your eyes pleasure...
