“Against nature: the real and the imagined unite in a new synthesis of colour, codes and conceptions of clothing. There is an idea of experimentation in altering the nature of Dior’s fashion through a celebration of the artificial and the real this season. Here, for Raf Simons, Artistic Director of Christian Dior, the past collides with the future, ultimately forming a new tribe of flower women in a new architecture of clothing for Spring-Summer.”
I just recently discovered the photos of this S/S 2014 Dior extravaganza orchestrated by Raf Simons. Of course, you might already have seen their beauty in many a fashion magazine or blog last winter, still I wanted to share them with you. You might rememberDior’s amazing Autumn/Winter 2012 Runway with florists 'extraordinaires' like the Parisian Eric Chauvin and the Belgian Mark Colle (one of my favourites!). It seems Mr Simons really has a thing with flowers and likes saying it with flowers chez Dior. And I must say, I am obsessed with his floral projects. Enlisting the help of celebrated fashion event designer Bureau Betak once again, a temporary structure was constructed in the centre of Jardin du Musée Rodin. This temporary hanging garden is such a spectacular and dreamy interpretation of an exotic tropical Eden.
Watch the timelapse of the structure coming together in the video below.
